Few would argue that the energy transition – aided and abetted by urbanisation in India, the rise of AI and supply-side challenges – is leading what could be a sustained upswing in commodity pricing. This is already prompting an increase in investor interest in exploration groups who provide the best leverage on commodity-related success.
In our 2024 Exploration Outlook, we will unravel both the challenges ahead of the exploration community, according to the Mining Magazine Exploration Report, and the key technologies that will need to be used if explorers are to deliver discoveries at the levels needed to meet eye-watering demand estimates.
We will review how explorers plan to improve their access to fertile exploration ground, and the range of tools at their disposal once they are active. This includes in-field hand-held analysis devices, predictive targeting and modelling software, drilling advances, geophysics breakthroughs, improvements in geochemistry and UAV/ drone advances.
